Jane Austen's House is delighted to release this collection of 14 special edition silk ribbons, created by Whitchurch Silk Mill. Each ribbon is inspired by the collection here at Jane Austen's House - the historical wallpapers, turquoise ring, amber crosses, first editions and more. Named after Jane's famous characters and stories, her homes, and family history.
The Longbourn ribbon is 2.5" wide, featuring a luxurious rich cream, with three gold and two deep red stripes. Click here to view the other ribbons available.
Each ribbon has been woven by specialist weavers using traditional techniques and historical machinery. Whitchurch Silk Mill, here in Hampshire, has been weaving silk for over 200 years. Silk ribbon weaving is a critically endangered craft, there are currently only four silk ribbon weavers in the UK, one of which is employed at Whitchurch Silk Mill.
All profits support both Jane Austen's House and Whitchurch Silk Mill to continue their work.
Each ribbon is sold in 2 metre length (allow for up to 5cm tolerance either way), strictly dry clean only, iron gently on a silk setting. Come individually boxed.
Limited availability. Fourteen ribbon styles available while stocks last.
